Frank Spillo, Of Hartsdale, 90

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Frank Spillo of Hartsdale died on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at age 90.

He was born in Bronxville on April 29, 1924, to Nancy and Anthony Spillo. He graduated from Edison High School.

Spillo served as a U.S. Marine and fought on Okinawa during World War II. He loved baseball was an avid Yankee fan. After the war, he was invited to try out at the Phillies farm camp.

Spillo ran his own milk route in Bronxville for over 30 years and then served as a crossing guard there for another 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve, to whom he was married for 64 years; three sons, Angelo, Michael and William; three grandchildren, David, Joseph and Jenna; and sisters, Mary, Ester and Margaret. He was predeceased by sisters Connie and Carmella and brother Angelo.

Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catharine's Church, 25 Second Ave., Pelham, on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m.
