Hartsdale Realtor Terrie Kaplan Dies At 68

HARTSDALE, N.Y. – Terrie Kaplan, a Hartsdale realtor, died July 13 after a brief battle with pulmonary hypertension. She was 68. 

Born in Bronx, N.Y., Kaplan was raised in White Plains. She attended White Plains High School, where she met her future husband of 48 years, Alan Kaplan. She received a bachelor's degree in English from Hunter College and a master's in teaching from Manhattanville College. 

Kaplan worked with her family at Regal Beauty Supplies in Larchmont for many years before becoming a realtor serving southern Westchester from the 1980s until her death. An associate broker, she worked at Coldwell Banker and previously managed Prudential Treefrog Realty in Dobbs Ferry and Prudential Centennial Realty in Scarsdale.

A member of the Westchester County Board of Realtors, she chaired the awards committee and was currently a member of the grievance committee.

She is survived by her husband, Alan; a daughter, Natalie (William) Gorlin; a son, Jeffrey (Angela Acchione) Kaplan; a brother, Dr. Stephen Rosenthal; and two grandchildren. 

A funeral service was held Monday morning at Woodlands Community Temple in White Plains. Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry handled arrangements. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Ossining Children's Center or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
