Margaret Hunt, 82, Former Elmsford Bookkeeper

THORNWOOD, N.Y. – Margaret L. Klepsig Hunt, a longtime resident of Thornwood, died July 13 after a long battle with cancer. She was 82. 

Born May 25, 1930 in White Plains, Hunt graduated from White Plains High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for more than 30 years and retired from Elmsford Interstate Lumber and Material Company. Hunt was an avid bowler and animal lover. She loved to travel and enjoyed having her home filled with friends and family. 

Hunt is survived by her husband Albert J. Hunt, a sister Elizabeth (Richard) Schlichting, three daughters Lois (Neil) Dalbo, Susan (Bob) Olthoff and Janice (John) Davis, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Valhalla. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or ASPCA of Westchester.
