Margaret Woehrle, 80, Formerly Of Elmsford

ELMSFORD, N.Y. – Margaret "Peggy" Woehrle, formerly of Elmsford, died Nov. 27 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla. She was 80.

Woehrle was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Bronx, N.Y., to Thomas and Margaret Burke Ellicott. She was a member of the Mothers Guild and Rosary Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and Church in Elmsford.

She was also a former president and life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Live Oak Engine Company in Elmsford and a member of the Indian River Telephone Pioneer Club in Melbourne.

Woehrle is survived by her husband, Edward F. Woehrle, of Melbourne; six children, Edward (Kathy) Woehrle, of Niskayuna, N.Y., James (Linda) Woehrle, of Overland Park, Kan., Margaret “Peggy” (Stephen) Vena, of Niskayuna, Michael ( Nancy) Woehrle, of Bloomingburg, N.Y., Stephen (Gayle) Woehrle, of Elmsford, and Anne Marie (Richard) Dosch, of Washingtonville, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by two sisters, Clare Jones, of Rivervale, N.J., and Anne O'Leary, of Wayne, N.J.; and a brother, John Ellicott, of Bloomingdale, N.J. She was predeceased by a granddaughter.

Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hawthorne Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Elmsford. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
