CLEARWATER, Fla. - Maria Sestito (nee Macri) of Clearwater, formerly of Irvington and Dobbs Ferry, died March 2. She was 91.
Sestito was born May 17, 1922, to Marianna Fera and Domenico Macri in Chiaravalle Centrale, Province of Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy. In 1962 she immigrated to the United States with her family, and settled in Irvington before moving to Dobbs Ferry. She lived in Dobbs Ferry until 2005 when she relocated to Clearwater, Florida. She was a member of the Dobbs Ferry community and Our Lady of Pompeii parish.
Sestito is survived by her children, Salvatore (Kathy), Anna Maria Varano (Francesco), Frank (Linda) and Antonietta; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Antonio; daughter-in-law, Virginia; and son-in-law, Aurelio.
Services will be held in Florida. A local memorial service will be announced at a later time.
