YONKERS, N.Y. Mary F. Walpole Lara of Yonkers died June 9. She was 74.
Lara was an executive assistant at the Volunteer Center of Westchester in Hartsdale.
Born March 29, 1938, she was a graduate of Preston High School, Katherine Gibbs School and Sarah Lawrence College. Lara then received a master's degree in social work from New York University.
She is survived by two daughters, Maria Elena Lara Kim and Joanna Lara Zuppardi; a sister, Dorothy Flaherty; a brother, Robert Walpole; and two grandchildren.
Visiting hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester. A requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
