Mary Patricia Giunta, 92, Longtime Irvington Resident

CHEVY CHASE, Md. - Mary Patricia 'Pat' Giunta of Chevy Chase, a longtime Irvington and Tarrytown resident, died Feb. 21. She was 92.

Giunta was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Liverpool, England, and was the daughter of Thaddeus and Margaret Cregan O'Reilly. She had been a school teacher who taught at North Tarrytown High School and later at North Rockland High School. In her retirement, she spent several years as a docent at Lyndhurst. She had been a parishioner of Transfiguration Church and a member of the Transfiguration Seniors.

Giunta is survived by her children, Joseph (Dana Hansson) of Warrenton, Va., Mary Giunta of New York City, Anne (Francisco) Paniagua of San Francisco, Calif., and Carole Giunta (Joseph Hibbeln) of Silver Spring, Md.;  and 10 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Giunta.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Transfiguration Church with interment to follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
