Monroe De Mott, 79, Hartsdale Korean War Veteran

HARTSDALE, N.Y. – Monroe J. De Mott of Hartsdale died Sept. 25. He was 79.

De Mott was born Aug. 5, 1933, in New Rochelle to Monroe and Mathilde De Mott. He worked as a project manager for J.P. Morgan Chase Bank for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of Bronx-New Rochelle Elks Lodge 756 as the current secretary.

He also was a recent president of the Westchester Chapter Model A Ford Club of America. He married Judeth Murphy April 17, 1993. She survives him.

De Mott also is survived by two daughters, Michelle M. (Nelson) Rivera and Suzanne T. (Stephen) Farrell; a sister, Marianne De Mott, of New Mexico; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
