Peter C. DeLanoy, 62, Of Elmsford

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Peter C. DeLanoy, resident of Elmsford, died on Monday in Valhalla. He was 62.

He was born on Dec. 23, 1952, in White Plains to Percy and Margie (Hammond) DeLanoy.

He is survived by his brother, Gary, of Prescott, Ariz..

After graduating from Elmsford's Alexander Hamilton High School in 1970, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier. After his retirement from the Postal Service, he worked as a security guard throughout Westchester County.

His passion was rock music, being a self-taught guitarist and drummer as well as a vocalist, playing in many bands throughout his life.

He enjoyed getting together with his musician friends and jamming and cheering for the New York Yankees and Jets.

He was a good friend to many who knew him as Pete, Del or 'Mr. D.'

A memorial service will be held in March at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in Elmsford. The family will contact all concerned once plans are confirmed.
