ELSMFORD, N.Y. Rosalyn "Roz" Weiss, a former Elmsford resident, died Aug. 1 at Rosary Hill Home. She was 87.
She was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Bronx, N.Y., to Elizabeth and William Horne. She raised her children in Elmsford and later lived with one of her daughters in White Plains. Weiss worked at Reader's Digest for 18 years until her retirement.
She regularly spent winters in Arizona with her eldest daughter. Weiss was predeceased by her first cousin and "sister in real life," Sarah Nemeroff.
Weiss is survived by a brother, Saul (Celia) Horne; four children, Helene Thea Weiss, Donald (Salli) Weiss, Holly Ann (Wayne) Maxwell and David (Karen) Weiss; six grandchildren and two cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in Elmsford.
