Terence Joseph O’Connor, 74, Of Hartsdale, Healthcare Administrator

HARTSDALE, N.Y. - Terence Joseph O'Connor of Hartsdale, formerly of Scarsdale, died Monday, Nov. 3. He was 74.

O’Connor was born April 7, 1940, to Joseph and Veronica O'Connor who lived in Chicago and suburban Baltimore before settling in Scarsdale. A 1958 graduate of Scarsdale High School, he earned a bachelor's degree from Tufts University, two master's degrees, and eventually a doctorate. He pursued a program in medical humanities from Drew University. He was a healthcare administrator at South Bronx Mental Health Council, St. Mary's Hospital for Children, St. Luke's-Roosevelt, and St. Patrick's Nursing Home.

O’Connor is survived by his wife, Denise O'Connor; children, Christopher of Allentown, Pa., Charlotte of Smithtown, Colin of Flushing, Carolyn of Hartsdale, and Suzanne of West Harrison; seven grandchildren; brothers, John of Alpharetta, Ga., and Brian of Fairport; and sister, Carol of Albuquerque, N.M.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
