Astorino Says U.S. Should Not Accept Syrian Refugees

The highest responsibility of government is to protect the safety and security of its people. Until the federal government can guarantee the safety and security of the American people, we cannot and should not accept any new refugees from Syria.

FBI Director James Comey recently acknowledged that the United States government is unable to conduct thorough background checks on the refugees because the data is just not available. With at least one refugee involved in the terrorist attacks in Paris, and roughly 70 percent of refugees being fighting age males, the risk is simply too high. 

The safety of our citizens must come first.
