1,390 Tickets Issued During Super Bowl DWI Detail In Westchester, State

ARMONK, N.Y. — The New York State Police announced that they had issued 1,390 tickets as part of their Super Bowl Sunday STOP-DWI enforcement period.

Beginning six hours before kickoff at noon, troopers stepped up patrols and set up sobriety checkpoints with the goal of deterring, identifying and arresting impaired drivers. The patrols ended at midnight statewide.

Police also targeted speeding and aggressive drivers.

A total of 31 drivers were arrested for DWI, 408 for speeding, 39 for being distracted, 55 for not wearing a seatbelt and 16 drivers were found to be in violation of the Move Over law.
