Broken Windows, Windshields Reported In Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Greenburgh police responded to multiple reports of broken windows and windshields last week, all within three miles of one another.

Police responded Monday, Oct. 1, to a construction site in the 800 block of Dobbs Ferry Road where the windshield of an excavator had been broken. No video surveillance was available, police said.

Also on Oct. 1, a resident of Oak Street reported about 5:30 p.m. that the rear window of his girlfriend's vehicle had been shattered. The vehicle had been used earlier that day and was not damaged.

On Saturday, Oct. 6, police responded to a report at 7:30 p.m. that a window of a resident's home had been shattered. The resident lives on Florence Avenue less than half a mile from Oak Street.

The resident told police that an object was thrown at the front window of her house and shattered it. She noticed a 1995 green Honda Accord in front of her residence and then saw it leave, police said.

Police determined that the person matching the car's license plate no longer resides at the documented address. All the incidents remain under investigation.

The following items also were reported by Greenburgh police:

Driving While Intoxicated: Susan Dragovich, 49, of Hartsdale was charged with driving while intoxicated as a first offense, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content higher than 0.18 percent and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, all misdemeanors. Police stopped a vehicle about midnight Wednesday, Oct. 3, after noticing it had a flat tire. Police said the driver, Dragovich,, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, and admitted to hitting a parked vehicle without stopping to report it. Dragovich's blood alcohol level was found to be 0.203 on the scene, police said.

Missing Purse: Police responded to a call about 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Sam's Club, 333 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford. A White Plains woman told police that after she got home from shopping, she discovered that she had left her purse in the shopping cart. When she returned to the Sam's Club parking lot, her purse, containing a wallet with money and credit cards, was gone.

Theft From Car: A woman reported that her purse was stolen from her car between 2 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, while she and her husband were at Sporttime, 380 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford. She told police that credit cards, a watch, a diamond bracelet and a gold necklace were inside the purse. The woman said they had left the car unlocked.
