Former police officer, Steven Hart, was driving a bit before 7 a.m. when he was involved in an accident. According to the Town of Poughkeepsie’s Police Traffic Enforcement Unit, the former officer’s vehicle was traveling at a high speed when it left the road and hit a tree. The vehicle caught fire as a result, according to Lohud.
