GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Officials are seeking a woman who used a small child to steal someone’s wallet, according to the Greenburgh Police Department.

At about 2:45 p.m., Oct. 14, an employee of Momma Mia’s Pizza on Central Avenue in Hartsdale reported a missing wallet from a table. After reviewing surveillance footage, officials observed a woman between 25 and 30 years old and a 3 or 4-year-old girl entering the restaurant.

A few moments later, the child handed the wallet to the adult female, police said. The woman, who was wearing grey stretch pants, a black long-sleeve sweater, a light blue shirt and white sneakers, looked in the wallet and handed it back to the child, according to police. The adult woman gestured to the child to put the wallet in her pocket, then paid for her food order and left the restaurant, police said.

The missing wallet had credit cards and a driver’s license in it. Anyone with information is asked to call the Greenburgh Police Department at 914-682-5300.
