GREENBURGH, N.Y. A naked man was observed walking down the center of Maple Street last week, Greenburgh police reported.
On Friday morning, Aug. 24, the Greenburgh Police Department responded to the location and found an 18-year-old Greenburgh resident walking naked on Maple Street's double yellow line toward Warren Avenue. Officers asked the man to put his hands behind his back, which he allegedly ignored.
Police reported that the man appeared to be under the influence of a drug, noting that he had bloodshot and glassy eyes. When police approached him, trying to restrain his hands, he allegedly began flailing his arms, screaming and running.
Police officers were able to subdue him, and he was transported to the White Plains Emergency Room via ambulance.

- A Hartsdale resident's handbag was stolen Thursday from her shopping cart at the Christmas Tree Shop on Central Avenue. The woman reported she left her cart unattended in the middle aisle of the clearance section. When she looked back at her cart, she noticed that her pink, leather handbag was missing. She told police it contained a laptop, two cell phones and her wallet.
- The assistant manager at Hartsdale's Friendly's Restaurant told police a waiter allegedly left work early Sunday with more than $100 of the restaurant's money. Officers said they visited the waiter's home to find only his mother lived at the residence. The restaurant is not pressing charges.
- Loehmann's Department Store in Hartsdale was allegedly robbed twice in the past week, police reported. On Aug. 22, a Caucasian man, who employees said they recognized as a past shoplifter, reportedly stole two or three handbags. On Sunday, the store reported a different man stole three shirts before running into an awaiting van.
- An Edgemont resident called police, saying golf clubs were stolen from his Acura Thursday. The car was parked in his driveway; however, he admitted to police he may have forgotten to lock the doors.
- A Bronx resident reported his Mercedes was stolen Friday from the parking lot near the Verizon Wireless store on Central Avenue. Police contacted surrounding retailers, inquiring about their security cameras.
