Greenburgh Search Warrant Yields Heroin, Marijuana In White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A short-term investigation by Greenburgh police resulted in the arrests of three men on drug possession and drug-dealing charges on Monday.

Police said they initially arrested Calvin Barksdale, 57, of 60 Gibson Ave., White Plains, for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and Terry Joyiens, 59, of the 300 block of County Center Road in White Plains for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

After the initial arrests, members of the Greenburgh Street Crime Unit secured and executed a search warrant for a County Center Road address, in the White Plains section of Greenburgh, about 8 p.m. on Monday. There, police said they recovered an unspecified quantity of heroin.

A second man residing at the scene of the search warrant, Walter Simpson, 62, was charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and Unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

All three defendants were booked, processed and held for arraignment..
