The man killed in a shooting in Yonkers after ramming his car into at least one police vehicle during an escape attempt has been identified, according to the FBI.

Erick Campbell, 48, was shot Friday afternoon on Aqueduct Avenue near McLean Avenue, said Amy Thoreson, public affairs specialist with the FBI.

Witnesses said Campbell, who was believed to armed, got in his car and tried to flee when officers attempted to arrest him, hitting multiple police vehicles. They then reported hearing multiple shots ring out.

It has not been revealed whether the agent or officer fired the fatal shot.

The FBI said no one else was injured in the shooting, and there is no threat to public safety.

Sources report that Campbell was a suspect in the Nov. 13 robbery of the Chase Bank on South Broadway in Tarrytown, and another Chase on Saw Mill River Road in Greenburgh on Dec. 7. In both instances, the suspect showed the teller a handgun and left after receiving cash.

Yonkers police directed all questions to the FBI.
