Vize has been with the department for more than 28 years.
It also welcomed two new officers, Paul Robibero and Angelo Liberatore.
Robibero, 34, previously worked for the Greenburgh Police Department for more than six years and was part of its Technical Rescue Team, a specialized response unit for extremely hazardous and difficult rescue situations.
Liberatore, 29, was with the New York City Police Department for more than four years, was an emergency medical technician in Greenburgh and is still active with the Air National Guard, based out of Newburgh..
Vize started with the Irvington Police Department in 1988. Many members of his family are in law enforcement as well, he said Wednesday.
Vize's older brother, John, is with the New Castle Police Department. His niece, Jennifer Vize, is a detective with the Westchester County Department of Public Safety. His younger brother, Al, recently retired from the Mamaroneck Police Department and his late nephew, Danny Vize, had worked for the Mount Vernon Police Department.
Vize is a member of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester, a fraternal Irish organization, as are his brothers, Al and John.
Al plays the bagpipes for the organization's band, but, Vize said, laughing, his own musical abilities are limited to "changing the CD."
Vize and his wife, Marie, have been married for 31 years and have a son, John, and a daughter, Diana.
