Police said on Thursday that patrol officers responded to a commercial burglary alarm at the Scarsdale wines at 455 South Central Park Ave., Scarsdale, in the Town of Greenburgh. When officers arrived, they discovered that the front glass door shattered. It was confirmed that the premise was burglarized with cash taken from a register, according to police.
Interior video surveillance was reviewed and Spasoff was observed entering the premise around the time of the alarm, and was observed removing money from the store register, police said.
A similar burglary occurred at approximately 1 a.m., earlier, on the same date at the Romantic Depot, at 6 Frontage St., in the Village of Elmsford, according to police. Spasoff was observed on the interior store surveillance system removing a cash register from the premise, police said.
Detectives from the Town of Greenburgh Police Department and the Village of Elmsford Police, as well as Greenburgh Police Street Crime Unit, conducted a joint investigation into the commercial burglaries, which led them to Spasoff.
Spasoff is due to be arraigned in Greenburgh Town Court on Friday. The Village of Elmsford Police will file additional charges in the Romantic Depot case in the near future.
