Man Charged With Photographing Naked Child At Greenburgh Hotel

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A 71-year-old Ossining man was arrested Saturday after he was caught with a naked photo of a young hotel guest on his iPad.

Victor Weil, 71, of Ossining was charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance near a pool at the Westchester Marriott Hotel on White Plains Road in Greenburgh.

Greenburgh Police investigated the incident of second-degree unlawful surveillance at the Westchester Marriott Hotel on White Plains Road in Tarrytown at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Victor Weil of 6603 Eagle Bay Drive in Ossining was a guest at the hotel when when he reportedly went to the pool area which was being utilized by numerous families and their children, police said on Thursday. 

Weil began to photograph the children with his I Pad alarming the parents who confronted him about his actions, police said. Security was called and Weil agreed to delete the photos from his iPad, according to police. In the process of doing so, hotel security as well as some parents reportedly observed photos of a naked 3-year-old child and police were called. 

Weil was detained for investigative purposes, police said, but due to a medical condition, he was taken by Greenburgh Emergency Medical Services to Westchester Medical Center.

Greenburgh police said on Thuesday that is appears the 3-year-old child had just been changed by the parent when he appeared naked at the slider door of their hotel room which was on the ground floor facing the pool area. It was at this time, according to police, that Weil -- who was in the balcony area for the child’s room in front of the closed slider door -- begun to photograph the child.

Weil surrendered to Greenburgh Police and was arraigned and sent to Westchester County Jail. His bail was set at $5,000 cash or $1,000 bond.
