Man Charged With Possession Of Two Pounds Of Marijuana In Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, N. Y. -- A 55-year-old Waldoboro, Maine, man is being held at Westchester County Jail facing felony criminal possession of marijuana after Greenburgh police stopped his car and found more than two pounds of the drug, police said.

Police stopped Keith Ellum's 1998 Jeep Cherokee at about noon Friday for a traffic violation near the intersection of Old White Plains Road and Benedict Avenue. After arresting him on a charge of unlawful possession of marijuana, police, with the assistance of K-9 officer Metro, searched the car and found 2.26 pounds of the substance, police said.

The felony charge was added later, police said.
