New Rochelle Police Searching For Hit-And-Run Driver

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – A Bronx man remains in the hospital on Sunday after he was struck by an outraged motorist on Saturday morning.

Police confirmed that they are actively seeking the driver of a red pickup truck that struck the 37-year-old man near the intersection of North Avenue and Quaker Ridge Road, allegedly following an altercation.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., the driver made contact with his victim’s BMW, and the two got in a heated verbal argument while pulled over to the side of the road.

Then, unexpectedly, the driver of the pickup sped off, dragging his victim along the side of his car before mowing him down with the rear wheels and fleeing the scene. The Bronx man was treated for serious injuries at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.

Police officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the department at 914-654-2230.
