This is an updated story to Daily Voice's earlier report.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. - The Greenburgh Police Department Special Victims Unit is investigating a bomb threat that forced the evacuation of Edgemont High School on Monday.

At approximately 8:45 a.m., police were notified of the non-specific bomb threat at the high school, prompting a multi-agency response that included members of the Special Operations Unit, EMS, Mobil Command Center and Greenville Fire Department.

Students were swiftly evacuated from the building and relocated to a predesignated destination. The school was then searched by police with an assist from a Westchester County Police Explosive trained K-9 Unit.

No explosives were found at the school and law enforcement officials cleared the scene at 11:15 a.m. The school then returned to its regular schedule and classes resumed.

The incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with any information regarding the bomb threat can call investigators with the Special Victims Unit at (914) 989-1736.

Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner sent the community an email stating: No need to worry! No device found. All are safe! Thank you, Greenburgh Police Department for always being prepared! Our Special Operations Unit does a fantastic job. We have the best tactical and rescue unit around. And, our police are always training."
