Officers were dispatched to the Shell Station on Scarsdale Avenue early in the morning on Dec. 5, following reports of a stolen vehicle, which had been dropped off the day before, serviced and left in the parking lot overnight.

Using surveillance video from the gas station, police determined that three white males in their late teens were driven in an SUV onto the Shell station property at approximately 4:20 a.m. on the morning the car was stolen and began looking inside the vehicles. Ten minutes later, they took off with the stolen car and drove off with the SUV behind them. The owner of the station later confirmed that an employee had left the keys inside the car after finishing work on it.

Police canvassed the area and reviewed surveillance video from nearby businesses with no success. A BOLO was issued, but the car was not recovered. Police said the incident is under investigation.
