Police Say Suspect Still At Large In Greenburgh Shooting

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – A suspect in one of two different shooting incidents that occurred in Greenburgh is still at large, according to the Greenburgh Police Department.

Greenburgh Police officers responded to the area of North Sears Avenue near Payne Street following multiple calls of gun shots in the area on Friday, Aug. 29 at about 11:30 p.m, police said.

The officers interviewed multiple people who said they heard five to eight gunshots in the vicinity, police said. Following a canvas of the area, patrol officers found a number of shell casings in the north end of the street on Sears Avenue. There were no reported injuries.

Greenburgh Police officers responded to the area of Canterbury Road and York Street to investigate more calls of gun shots on Saturday, Aug. 30 at about 4:55 a.m.

The Elmsford Police Department informed Greenburgh police that a resident of Summit Street had reported his house being fired upon by unknown suspects. Patrol officers confirmed that multiple shots had been fired at the residence with bullet holes imbedded in the front side of the dwelling, and Greenburgh Police detectives recovered multiple shell casings at the scene.  There were no reported injuries.

Both shooting incidents are being investigated by the Greenburgh Detective Division.
