Theft At Greenburgh Multiplex Among Calls Handled By Town Police

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A theft at Greenburgh Multiplex in which a briefcase with a Mac laptop, prescription medication and various miscellaneous papers were stolen on Saturday, Dec. 6, was among the calls that Greenburgh police responded to last week.

Other reports were: 

  • A police officer responded to a motor vehicle accident on Monday, Dec. 8 at Rockledge Road. Complainant reports he heard a vehicle speed up the street then he heard a loud crash. Complainant then exited his apartment to see two people standing in the street where the accident occurred. Upon trying to speak to them, the two parties fled the scene. One party was found down the street from the accident scene and was combative, uncooperative and heavily intoxicated. The party was placed into handcuffs for officer safety and detained. The party was later transported to White Plains Hospital for minor injuries.
  • A man went to headquarters to report that on Wednesday, Nov. 5 his Visa credit card was charged 15 times totaling $1,800 at several different Mcdonald's locations in the Albany area. An investigation is ongoing.
  • A man was observed by a police officer using a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle, traveling northbound on Central Park Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted and a NYSPIN check confirmed that the man's registration was suspended in New York State for failure to pay child support. An Ejustice check confirmed that his NJ Driver`s License was also suspended. The man was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and processed. Citations were issued and the man was released without incident with an appearance date of Jan. 8, 2015.
  • A woman reported that when she returned home she entered through the garage and put her two youngest kids in the bath. She then entered the master bedroom and found the dressers in both his and hers walk-in closets lightly ransacked. She called her husband who responded and Greenburgh Police. On arrival, the police secured the premises. The rear sliding door was pried at the bottom breaking the glass leaving it shattered but largely intact. A hand sized hole was observed in the glass in the area of the lock and the screen for the rear slider was also put back in place upon exit. Greenburgh Detective Division was notified and responded.
