GREENBURGH, N.Y. – The Greenburgh Police Department made three arrests Sunday evening following a burglary in the Worthington Road section of town.

As the afternoon faded, police were called to a residence on Balmoral Crescent after a Greenburgh resident returned home to find his house burglarized. The homeowner told police that he saw three men dashing through neighboring backyards.

After receiving the suspects' descriptions, Greenburgh police officers were aided by Westchester County police and the Yonkers police canine unit to search the area. They apprehended three suspects "exiting a wooded path that led directly from the area of the burglary onto Overhill Road," said Greenburgh police Sgt. Robert Whiting.

Police said one of the suspects, Kelly Pettiford Jr., 18, of the Bronx, was in possession of property stolen in the burglary. Other items were found on a nearby path.

Pettiford along with Dior Llewellyn, 19, of Edgemont, and Danny Royale, 20, of Raleigh, N.C., were charged with burglary, a felony. Pettiford was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. All three were held for arraignment at Greenburgh Town Court.
