On Wednesday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that a jury has found Bairon Farez Llanos, 38, guilty of multiple felonies after attacking his girlfriend outside of her home last summer.

At approximately 3:45 a.m. on July 19 last year, Llanos approached his girlfriend outside her home, grabbing her by the ears with enough force to make both bleed. He proceeded to stab her multiple times with a kitchen knife.

The victim would suffer stab wounds to her neck, shoulder blade, a lacerated ear, thyroid gland and a shredded jugular vein.

According to McCarty, during the stabbing, the victim’s son attempted to intervene and protect his mother, prompting Llanos to tackle the son, mount him and attempt to stab him in the heart. Llanos’ second victim was able to deflect the knife, but suffered a laceration to the chest.

Both victims were treated for injuries, with the first requiring emergency surgery at the Westchester Medical Center.

Llanos was arrested the same day as the assault. He now faces 25 years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of attempted murder, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and individual counts of assault and attempted assault. He remains remanded to Westchester County Jail and is scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
