On Wednesday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that Floyd Bruce, 19, and Lamont McLean, 22 have been arraigned on multiple felony charges for their role in a July 16 shooting in broad daylight.

According to McCarty, at approximately 5:15 p.m. on the day in question, Bruce was walking on Willow Street when he fired several shots from a .22-caliber semi-automatic pistol that struck his victim in the leg. He then fled while the little girl was transported and treated at a local hospital.

The victim would be released several days after being shot. She was not the intended target.

Less than two weeks later, on July 26, Bruce and McLean were on Palisade Avenue, armed with handguns, when they approached and robbed two men in a marked car. The pair then fled from the scene.

The day after the robbery, both were arrested by the Yonkers Police Department. Officers recovered the semi-automatic pistol and a ballistic test matched it to the shooting earlier that month.

Bruce has been charged with felony counts of attempted murder, robbery, attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon, assault, reckless endangerment and a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of marijuana. McLean has been charged with three felony robbery counts.

Both defendants have pleaded not guilty and were remanded to the Westchester County Jail. They are due back in court on Wednesday, Sept. 27, where they will faec up to 25 years in state prison.
