Westchester's Assembly delegation will discuss the budget, which provides an overview of the fiscal and policy proposals submitted by the governor on Jan. 2. The $142.6 billion budget represents a 5.3 percent increase over last year's.

Assemblyman Gary Pretlow will chair the meeting for the seven state Assembly representatives.

"Your input on key budget issues is vital," Pretlow said in a statement. "We urge you to make your voices heard and help us to advocate effectively for the needs and concerns of Westchester residents in this year's budget process."

Among the budget's proposals is a Stable Rate Pension Contribution Option for municipalities, which would allow local governments and school districts to "lock in" a lower pension rate for a period of time approved by the comptroller and Teachers' Retirement System.

Also included in the budget is a five-year, $47.4 billion capital plan for repairs to properties damaged by Sandy, highway and bridge work and parks and environmental projects, among other commitments.

The meeting begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the public. Those who wish to testify should contact Debra Lagapa before Wednesday morning at 914-777-3832 or lagapad@assembly.state.ny.us. Written testimony will also be fully considered and be made a part of the record of the hearing.
