CSEA workers had been working without a contract since 2010. The five-year agreement covers January 2010 to December 2014.

The Greenburgh Town Council approved the contract during its Wednesday meeting.

“Our employees do a good job and are responsive,” Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said in an email, adding he thought the contract was fair. “Am pleased that they will be contributing into health care costs for the first time. This is important—short term and long term.”

A request for comment on the new contract from the CSEA was not immediately returned.

The contract stipulates several salary increases across the board: zero percent for 2010, 1.5 percent for 2011, 2.65 percent for 2012 and 2013, and a 2.7 percent increase in 2014. The salary increases for 2010-12 apply retroactively to all employees, including those who no longer work for the town.

The new contract also includes annual health care contributions from CSEA employees.

Employees hired before Jan. 1, 2013 will contribute 1 percent of the preceding years' salary. New employees hired after March 1, 2013 will contribute 5 percent of the preceding years' annual health insurance premium rate.
