Tax Exmption On Renewable Energy Extended

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – A new law extends a property tax exemption for solar, wind and farm-waste energy systems at local option until 2015.

The bill, authored by Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-Rye) during the 2014 legislative session, recently was signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

According to a press release, the law has contributed to the development of renewable energy and the reduction of harmful emissions across New York State.

The legislation was sponsored in the Senate by George Maziarz (R-Newfane).
