"We are suspending our campaign, but I am not suspending our fight for liberty," Cruz said.

Cruz did not mention or congratulate Trump during his speech with the relationship between the two growing more and more acrimonious in the last few weeks.

Cruz's announcement leaves Trump as the likely nominee, with Ohio Gov. John Kasich now a distant second place.

Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus labeled Trump the "presumptive GOP nominee," in a Tweet posted moments after Cruz's announcement, adding, "We all need to unite and focus on defeating Hillary Clinton."

Bernie Sanders has been projected as the winner over Clinton in the Democratic primary in Indiana.

Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.

Trump is scheduled to speak momentarily at Trump Tower in Manhattan. Daily Voice has a reporter at the scene. Check back for updates.
