original story: DANBURY, Conn. — The left lane of westbound I-84 is blocked Monday morning by a two-car accident at Exit 8 for Newtown Road right at the Danbury-Bethel border, according to the Department of Transportation.
Traffic is backed up to Exit 10 for Route 6/Church Hill in Newtown.
The crash was reported at about 8:50 a.m. Monday, DOT said.
Emergency vehicles were on the scene and stop-and-go traffic was reported in the area.
Motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes or more, DOT said.
It was not known how long it would take to clear the highway, DOT said.
