Man Shot Wednesday in Norwalk

A young man was shot Wednesday afternoon on Lowe Street near the intersection of Flax Hill Road, Norwalk Police say. The 21-year-old victim had been speaking with two men on Lowe Street immediately before being shot by one of the men. Detectives believe that this is not a random attack and that the victim may have known his attackers. The victim has refused to cooperate with the investigators.

The victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital by a private vehicle, police say. Emergency room personnel called police at 5:07 p.m. to report that they had received a patient with a gunshot wound. He is being treated at Norwalk Hospital for a non-life threatening injury and is in stable condition.

A detective investigating the scene at Lowe Street told a colleague that the man did not call for help. His family called him and he said he had been shot.

The two suspects fled on foot after shooting the victim, police say. They headed westbound on Flax Hill Avenue toward Soundview Avenue. They are described as black males in their late teens to 20s, with thin builds wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts and jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call the Norwalk Police Tipline at (203) 854-3111, or submit an anonymous tips online.
