Scarsdale Town Hall Shaken by Tremor

SCARSDALE, Conn. -- While some residents of Scarsdale felt the aftershock of the Virginia earthquake just before 2 p.m., it appeared most took the tremor in stride.

“We did feel it,” said Donna Conkling, Scarsdale village clerk. “We were helping people at the window and the chairs started shaking.”

The brief event was not cause for alarm at town hall, John Goodwin at the Village Manager’s Office said. “The village experienced shaking, but it was not an emergency,” he said. “It wasn’t major.”A Scarsdale Department of Public Safety official said that they did not feel any movement at their office and that as of 3:30 p.m. they had not received any calls about the earthquake from concerned citizens.
