Rudolph Forte, 91, Of Danbury, WWII Veteran

DANBURY, Conn. - Rudolph Forte of Danbury died Wednesday, Nov. 5. He was 91.

Forte was born in Port Chester, N.Y., to Achille and Rosa Forte. He was a graduate of Port Chester High School and enlisted into the U.S. Army Air Corps. During World War II, he was a pilot in the Air Transport Command. After the war ended, he enlisted in the New York Air National Guard 137th Fighter Interceptor Wing, stationed in Rye, N.Y., which is currently Westchester Airport.

He worked as a supervisor for Eagle Pencil and Eaton Corporation until his retirement in 1989.

Forte is survived by his children, Kathleen Forte (Gerald) Leventhal of Southbury, Nancy Gillingham of Danbury, John Forte (Julie) of Brookfield, Robert Forte of Danbury; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Joan (Carlucci) Forte; son-in law, Wayne Gillingham; and siblings, Louis, Pasquale, Mary, Catherine, Frances, and Viola.

There will be no calling hours. A military graveside service will be held Saturday Nov. 8 at 10:30 a.m. in section # 23 of St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of Forte to: Regional Hospice & Home Care of Western CT, 39 Old Ridgebury Road, Danbury.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury are in charge of arrangements.
