Capresha Still, of Virginia Avenue, allegedly placed a 53-inch Sanyo television in her shopping cart on Jan. 22 and walked out of the store without paying for it, police said.

Still, who was facing charges in connection with a similar alleged shoplifting incident in Stratford earlier in January, had been banned from the stores, police said. Her identity was determined following the Norwalk incident after an employee recognized her from surveillance video.

Norwalk police said Still was picked up by Fairfield police on unrelated charges Wednesday and turned over to the Norwalk department. Still was charged with fifth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor, and was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond. She was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday.
