Westport Educators, Police Receive Highest Paychecks

WESTSPORT, Conn. -- It pays to be a police officer or educator in Westport with those professions taking home the largest paychecks, according to the Westport News.

Westport Superintendent of Schools Elliott Landon, who will retire at the end of this school year, is the highest-paid public employee in Westport, earning $282,226.

According to data released by the school district and the town, Westport's public payroll for 2015, Superintendent of Schools Elliott Landon was the highest paid among all public employees with a salary of $282,226, said the Westport News.

The second-highest paid employee was Police Cpl. Howard Simpson with a total income of $202,298, including overtime and outside jobs, added the Westport News.
