Wilton Still Working To Restore Power, Reopen Roads After Damaging Winds

WILTON, Conn. — A number of roads were closed and 80 customers were still without power in Wilton on Thursday afternoon because of strong winds blowing through the area, police said.  

Wilton CERT was deployed Thursday to help detour traffic after a tree fell at the north end of Warncke Road and Catalpa Road near Wilton High School.

A number of downed tree branches and electrical wires were reported across Wilton, closing the following roads:

  • Deer Run Road in front of # 85.
  • Warncke Road, just north of Catalpa Road.
  • Honey Hill road, near Wampum Hill Road.
  • Skunk Lane, in front of # 130 

Eversource was on the scene in town making repairs. As of 2:45 p.m., 80 customers in town remained without power. Earlier in the day, nearly 100 customers were without power.
