Man Banned From Charles County Library In Caught Setting Intentional Fire Inside Bathroom

A man barred from visiting a public library in Maryland was busted causing an intentional fire inside the building, officials announced.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, the Maryland State Fire Marshal said that two witnesses caught a suspect lighting paper towels on fire in one of the bathrooms at the Cecil County Public Library in Waldorf.

Officials advised that the suspect had originally been banned from the library staff for earlier incidents at the same location.

The fire marshal did not identify the man.

No injuries or damage were reported as a result of the incendiary fire. The Charles County Sheriff is now assisting with the investigation into the incident. No potential charges have been announced.
