Pearse Callaghan, Marc Charbonier, Chiaki Hashizume and Sabrina Bellantoni received the honors earlier this month at SUNY Purchase College.

NYSATA's Portfolio Project is an initiative developed in conjunction with the New York State Education Department and based on the New York State Learning Standards.

The students involved in the initiative work hard all year to prepare and gather the literary and art requirements for their Portfolio Project. They then have their portfolios adjudicated by art educators.

The program aims to showcase the students' work and strengthen their understanding of the visual arts' methods, artistry and history.

NYSATA is a nonprofit professional organization founded in 1948 for the purpose of advancing the cause of art education.
