Ardsley Schools PTA To Honor Five With Jenkins Awards

ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- The Ardsley Parent Teacher Association will honor five teachers, volunteers and other professionals who have contributed to the lives of the district's young people with the annual Jenkins Award on Wednesday, April 23.

The Ardsley Schools PTA will present its annual Jenkins Awards to five people who have made a difference in the lives and education of students.

This year's honorees are: Concord Road Elementary School science teacher Esther Feldbaum; second-grade teacher Jill Rogovic; Boy Scouts Pack 3 Committee Chair Sheri; Emergency Medical Technician Lucy Trapletti-Gratzon;  and Toni Ullman-Lorenzo, the committee chair on Preschool Special Education

The Jenkins Committee solicited the community for nominations for candidates for the Jenkins Award and . received a significant number of nominations and selected this year's honorees from among those nominations. Honorees receive a lifetime membership in the New York state PTA and have a donation made in their name to two funds for teacher education scholarships.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Ardsley High School auditorium.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the Ardsley High School Select Chorus, the Ardsley Middle School Troubadours and the Ardsley High School Jazz Band.

Refreshments will be served, and there is no charge to attend. The organizers asked those who are interested in attending to help support these five extraordinary individuals, and celebrate the dedication and volunteerism that exemplifies and strengthens our community.
