Congratulations to Church Street Elementary School in White Plains. It’s the grand winner of the $10,000 top prize in Main Street Connect’s Better Schools Bonanza, sponsored by Entergy. The school earned more than 14,500 votes from family, friends and supporters.
The $1,000 runner-up prize goes to William B. Ward Elementary School from New Rochelle, which tallied more than 11,000 votes.
Fifty-one Westchester County elementary schools got at least 500 votes, winning them each a $500 check.
In total, Main Street Connect will donate $36,500 to the cause of Westchester County elementary school education. The money goes to each school’s Parent Teacher Organization or Association, which will help decide which programs need added support.

When can the schools expect the checks?
We have sent waivers to the schools to sign to receive their checks. Once they return the signed waivers, their checks will be in the mail!

I am so happy that my sons school won-GO CHURCH STREET SCHOOL!!!! I want to thank all my co-workers for voting. We did it.
