Giovinazzi, a Poughkeepsie resident, is the new assistant principal at Hen Hud. He previously served as assistant principal at two high schools in the Wappingers Central School District and also served as the Coordinator of Alternative Education at Dutchess County BOCES.

The new assistant principal said he believes in the four C's: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.

“Our students need all four to successfully transition from high school to college and careers,” Giovinazzi said.

Giovinazzi said he wants students to know his door is always open.

"I don’t want students to look at me simply as a disciplinarian," Giovinazzi said.

Giovinazzi said he was attracted to Hendrick Hudson being a small school district with tremendous offerings.

“I love the fact that we get to see our students in so many different aspects of their school careers beyond the classroom, such as sports, concerts, plays and community-based events," said Giovinazzi.
