LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Its mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, as well as improve the quality of life of patients and their families. It pays for life-saving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

Members of the Interact club at the Alexander Hamilton High School in Elmsford assisted the Elmsford Rotary Club at the Elmsford and Scarsdale Burger King locations.

Students interacted with customers as they walked in and drove through the drivethru. An informational handout was distributed to explain that 20 percent of any total purchase would be donated to support LLS. Some students also stood behind the cash register and asked patrons to fill out red paper blood drops to donate even more to the cause.

The event was a celebratory occasion for all the research conducted and lives saved. The Lagond Music School provided  entertainment throughout the event.

“It was so much fun," AHHS Interact volunteer Megan Mirtil said. "The five hours flew by. People were so nice and happy to listen, support and donate. This experience is one I will never forget. I can not wait to help at another Elmsford Rotary and Interact."
