Schools Superintendent Dr. Joseph Ricca and Principal Madeline Paneto-Gonzalez greeted children at Alice Grady Elementary School and Carl L. Dixson Primary School as they began the new season of learning.

"It's a warm summer day but everyone is ready to go," Paneto-Gonzalez said. "We're ready to go."

Ricca, in his second year as superintendent, rode with students on the bus and welcomed families to the two school campuses.

"We are prepared and expecting a great year," Ricca said as he shook hands with new students and said hello to those he got to know last year. "I like being here on opening day to meet everyone. It's a great part of my job."
