Greenburgh Schools Announce Pre-Registration For Early Childhood Education

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Pre-registration for the Greenburgh Early Childhood Program, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. in the Woodlands High School Auditorium.

The high school is at 475 W. Hartsdale Ave., in Hartsdale.

The Pre-K program is for all children who will be turning 4 years old by Dec. 31, 2015 and who are residents of Greenburgh. No income-requirements are required for Pre-K. Applications will be distributed based on a first- come, first-served basis. The Pre-K program includes both regular education as well as special education classes.

There is also limited head start pre-school space for children in district/out of district turning 3 or 4 years old by Dec. 31, 2015. The head start program is based on household income set forth in federal guidelines.

The following are early childhood program Pre-K eligibility requirements for enrollment:

Universal Pre-Kindergarte:

  • Family resides in Greenburgh
  • Child is 4 years old (by December 2015)
  • Child is toilet trained by start of school in September
  • Transportation will be provided through the district. Pick-up & drop-off  must be located in Greenburgh.

Head Start – Pre-K/Pre-S:

  • Families must be income eligible according to the head start family income guidelines that are set forth by the federal government.
  • Child can be 3 or 4 years old (by December 2015)
  • Child is toilet trained by start of school in September
  • Families living outside of the Greenburgh District must provide their child’s transportation to and from school.
